Operational Risk Business Analyst (Contract) | Banking

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Operational Risk Business Analyst to join a leading banking organization on a contract basis. This role will support operational risk initiatives through business analysis, project management, stakeholder engagement, and system support activities. The ideal candidate will possess good analytical capabilities, project coordination experience, and the ability to bridge business and technology teams to drive successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Delivery

• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and dependencies, and implement mitigation plans where required.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including business requirements, process flows, and functional integration workflows.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Technology, Testing, Operations, and Risk stakeholders, to gather requirements and drive project outcomes.
• Provide regular project updates, status reports, and key findings to senior management and stakeholders.
• Build excellent working relationships with business users and support teams to understand evolving business needs and priorities.
• Facilitate discussions and ensure alignment across multiple stakeholder groups.

Business Analysis & Change Delivery

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements and translate them into detailed functional specifications for development teams.
• Conduct impact assessments to identify risks, dependencies, and implementation considerations.
• Partner with delivery teams throughout design, development, testing, and deployment phases.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect resolution, and production implementation activities.

System Support & Operations

• Coordinate and manage production support activities, including issue investigation, root-cause analysis, data remediation, and stakeholder communications.
• Work closely with support teams to ensure timely resolution of system and operational issues.

Strategic Initiatives & Innovation

• Support business transformation initiatives involving process automation, data analytics, digitalization, and AI/GenAI adoption.
• Contribute ideas and recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen risk management processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Business Analysis, Project Management, Risk Management, or Banking Operations.
• Basic understanding of banking products, operational risk frameworks, and risk management processes.
• Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and projects simultaneously.

• Experience working in banking or financial services environments.
• Knowledge of project delivery methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, or Hybrid).
• Hands-on experience with tools such as:

  • Data analytics and reporting tools
• Exposure to automation, digital transformation, AI, or GenAI initiatives
